Back in December we had an ultrasound done at Mercy Hospital. They told us to bring a VHS..."a VHS tape?" I thought -- "where do I get one of those and how am I going to watch it?" So I swung by Walgreens on the way to the appointment and picked up one VHS tape for $1.89. I talked to some great friends (and vendors) of ours, Mark and Trisha Von Lanken, who own Von Wedding Films -- I knew they would be up on the technology to make this viewable (and share"able"). To my surprise I received an email today with the video clip of little Lauren in the womb at about 19 weeks -- she isn't quite developed at this point but you can get a good picture of her -- and you'll see she likes to suck her thumb!
Thank you so very much to Mark and Trisha for taking the time out of your busy schedules to make this view clip so that Eric and I can share it with all of our friends and family!
Enjoy!

Sneak Peek....
Hello Everyone....I could not wait to make this post -- I was just thinking it was going to be a few days before I was able to make it. To our surprise, when we woke up this morning I had an email from Brandi saying my gallery was up. Now the gallery that I can see and the gallery that I'm going to post for you all to see is a bit different -- there are some "sexy" poses in my gallery that we can't post online :) but Brandi was nice enough to take those images out for the "public gallery" --- as soon as she has that set up I'll add that link and you can go view ALL the images...below are some of my favorites!!! Be sure to check out her website www.trainaportraits.com to see what will be coming in April (when Lauren is actually here). Enjoy!!
P.S I'd love to know your favorites!! So just leave a comment!

Maternity Portraits

Hey All! Yesterday was a fun day -- Eric and I had maternity pics taken (yes, men can be in maternity pics) by a wonderful, fabulous photographer Brandi Traina, owner of Traina Portraits. I cannot wait to share them (well...most of them ;)) with all of you. Check back soon!

Expectations
Hello all, this is Eric,
We're getting close to the big day (64 days away) and we are filled with anticipation. The next few weeks will be busy with parenting classes, breastfeeding classes and diaper changing classes (I have never changed a diaper!) I'm not sure why we need classes? Kami has read every book available and told me everything I need to know. If I have any questions, there is always Google and Wikipedia. Right? Actually, I figure that most of the necessary training will occur on the job.
All there is to do now is wait. (and wait, and wait, and wait)
We're doing a poll of who you think Lauren will look like. (on the right hand side) Be sure to tell us what you think. (I'm voting for dark hair with blue eyes. In other words, I think she'll look like me. )

The Bedding is Here!!
I've waited patiently for a couple months to get this bedding. Putting the nursery together has been so much fun! It turned out just as I had envisioned -- all that is left to do is hang the wall decor and picture frames. Then we'll await her arrival! My pictures really do not do it justice so you'll have to come see it for yourself, if you can!
A look inside the crib -- this is the baby doll that Jack and Abby have been practicing with - they're doing pretty good - we get an occasional whimper saying "pay attention to me"!
I cannot wait to use this chair -- it's a glider that swivels and rocks (so does the ottoman). I expect many naps with Lauren in this chair -- so does Eric! ;)

Lamps
I'm still on the hunt for the right lamps to light up the room - in addition to the chandelier. While we were hanging the chandelier yesterday I remembered that I had bought this 70's style vintage candelabra lamp at an estate sale a couple years ago for $7 -- I hadn't seen it around for almost that long so I was afraid I had trashed it. I climbed up in the attic (while Eric was gone) and there she was -- all nasty and bronze - with the most awful looking shade (that got trashed). Eric picked up some antique white paint and I went at it this morning - four coats later I think we have a winner. Now all I have to do is find the perfect shade and get Mary to make me another cute cord cover ;)!
Fabrics
Tomorrow is another big day! Mary and I are picking up the glider, ottoman and bedding from Martinek Bebe in Dallas tomorrow. Once these pieces get in place the nursery is ALMOST finished. Pat Martinek is a designer that has lines all over the country. There are 6 fabrics total that make up the bedding and chair but I haven't been able to find all of them so you'll have to wait until the next post (when I actually have pictures of the pieces!) Here's just a fun sample of the fabrics:
