Oh Registry!

We've finally registered at the meca of baby stores - Babies "R" Us. Eric was a trooper and went to help but only made it through the boppies and nipples. I can't blame him -- it was overwhelming. Mary was there to help - she's done this a couple times -- although I hear neither Eric or Russell had a "wipe warmer"! It is really amazing what is out there. If you're looking to get us something that isn't on our registry and you know it's a great product -- please feel free -- we're new to this!

The Nursery

With the help of Mom, Dad and Eric we managed to finish the painting of the nursery over Thanksgiving weekend. Crazy, aren't we!? Check out the pictures!!

Eric measuring out the diamond pattern.

Hours and hours of applying painters tape!

Darker pink diamonds -- can you see the glitter?

After first run of tape was removed.

Putting second round of tape on.

More tape was applied to the dark pink diamonds -- now we're painting the light pink!

Pink & Green stripe.

Abby helped!

Final product!

THANKS MOM & DAD! Love you!

Boy or Girl?

Okay - Doug, Mary, Russell & Sarah were the only ones really involved in the first "Big Surprise" -- with Thanksgiving coming up and a lot of our family in town what a great opportunity to share more big news! Eric came up with this brilliant idea -- I can't take all the credit. Here's the story:

Boy or Girl?
Eric was convinced it was a boy -- and I secretly wanted a girl (for the pink of course). On the way to the ultrasound to find out the final news I had pretty much convinced myself it was a boy. Everyone was saying it - "gonna be a boy!" "I bet it's a boy!" I was ready to think about a baseball themed nursery and burping and farting (taught well by his father). As we went into the ultrasound room and looked up at the 7' tv screen -- she said, "I'm pretty sure I know what it is...I just want to see a few more times. -- Yep! It's a girl!" I could have screamed - but I didn't -- I just looked over at Eric (who was in shock) and smiled and said, "a little girl." Wanting to say so bad "I told you so!"

We had the sex finally figured out -- now it was time to set the plan into action. Thursday was Thanksgiving -- this was Monday. Just a few short days to get a fabulous mini-cake made. I called Amy of Amy Cakes (another fabulous cake designer in Oklahoma) to create this little masterpiece. Everybody knew that they were going to find out on Thanksgiving day by way of a "pink or blue" cake.

Here's a picture of the little cake!

Thanksgiving Day came - Mom, Dad, me and Eric headed over Doug and Mary's. The cake was a big hit and everyone was anxious to cut into it. I couldn't stand it anymore myself. "Let's cut it, I said!" We let the gramdma's cut it -- but only after we took a little poll! 9 voted boy, 2 voted girl!
