First Real Food - Carrots!

Yummy Yummy. I realized yesterday that it was probably time to start trying some real food. I was holding Lauren and eating a homemade cookie -- she watched intensely as I took the first bite and on the second bite she reached for it. Her doc said it would happen. Here's a little video - our dinners will never be the same :)

Getting Big!

It's been a while since I've posted (sorry all!) Time goes by so fast -- literally! Mom and Dad are out in Oklahoma this weekend (Mom has been here for a month)! Dad is unfortunately taking her home with him ;( Lauren will be so sad...and so willl I. Mom wanted more pictures so we played a little dress up this afternoon. Brandi is coming to take "real" pictures in the next few weeks so I'll post those as soon as they're up!

Water Baby!!

Yesterday was another first for Lauren -- her first time in the water (besides her bath)! She had fun in the sun -- and looked adorable! We have one more swim suit to wear this season so look for more pics soon :)

First Garage Sale!

This past weekend Lauren attended her first garage sale at GrandMary's and Papa's house. Russell and Sarah were in town too -- it was a fun time had by all! (Russell changed his first diaper ever!) And it is official - Russ and Sarah are moving back to OKC -- we are so excited!!

6 weeks old

Well...we really can't believe that it's already been 6 weeks since little Lauren came into our lives! It is been the greatest experience ever!! She is such a good baby and it changing daily! Grandma and Grandpa Brokaw came from Illinois on Friday to spend some time with us. Grandma Gail couldn't wait to get back to see her and Grandpa Steve was seeing her for the first time -- I think it's official she's spoiled!! Here are a few images I took today -- see what I mean -- she's changed!!

Lauren has arrived!

She's here! 17 hours of labor (none of it was painful!) she's finally here. I want to thank everyone (all 12 of you) that were there for the duration!! Here are some images taken by Brandi Traina of Traina Photography (who showed up at 2:30 am and was there until Lauren arrived the next day at 2:54)

Almost Time!!!

Well....it's April 5th -- 18 days until the induction! Doug and Mary were over for dinner tonight and we ALL think it will be sooner! My belly is BIG - I would post a picture but I'm not sure I would fit in picture :) Mary thinks little Lauren will make her appearance on April 9! Here's why:

Full Pink Moon - April 9, 2009

This full Moon heralded the appearance of the grass pink, or wild ground phlox—one of the first spring flowers. It is also known as the Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon, and the Fish Moon. Pink...hello....that's a sign, right?

Also, April 9th is my grandmother's birthday. January 9th is my mom's birthday and my birthday is July 9th -- it just makes sense.

Anyway, I'll keep you posted!! Until then wish, hope and pray for her early arrival (please!)

Surprise Shower

This has taken me WAY too long to post - we've been busy preparing for the arrival of little Lauren. I did want to post this to say a big THANK YOU to the women of EWF. I am a part of an awesome organization called EWF (Executive Women's Forum) it is a group of women business owners - our yearly retreat was at the end of February and we all went away for the weekend to work on growing our businesses. Well on Saturday night of the retreat we had a "planned" dinner out on the town in Tulsa - I showed up and they surprised me with a baby shower. I was shocked -- I had NO IDEA! Here are just a few pics from that evening! The adorable cake is from Mishelle Handy Cakes (www.mishellehandycakes.com) - she is another awesome cake designer that is in our magazine! Enjoy!
